Obituary

John “Jack” Edwin Heath, age 78, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday March 22, 2026. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on February 25, 1948 to the late Robert and Clarabelle Heath.

Jack graduated from Logan Hills High School in 1966, located in Zanesfield, Ohio. He proudly served with the Ohio National Guard from 1968-1974. Jack attended Cincinnati Bible College and later graduated from Ozark Bible College in Joplin, Missouri in 1979, earning the degree Bachelor of Sacred Literature. He served as minister to various churches in Missouri, Oklahoma, Indiana and Illinois.

He was previously married to Betty for 25 years and they had three children, Carol, Michelle and Paul.

He had a heart for serving God. He was the Executive Director of The Ohio Church Development Fund. He served as the minister of First Christian Church in Lancaster, Ohio; Springfield (Ohio) Christian Church and Pleasant View Christian Church in Jeffersonville, Ohio. He and wife Karen were lead teachers in the children’s ministry at Delaware Christian Church for several years. Most recently he was an active member of the Senior Men’s Bible Study at Grace Polaris Church.

He is survived by his wife, Karen, whom he married on January 27, 1996. Additionally, he is survived by his children Carol (Bob) Oaks of Gahanna; Michelle (Damon) Priest of McPherson, Kansas and Paul (J.D. Bellamy) Heath of Groveport; Marilee (Nick) Stuer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Also, his siblings Gary Heath of West Liberty, OH; Martha (Dave) Bishop of Urbanna, OH; Donna (Chris) Richardson of Joplin, Missouri and Bob Heath of Joplin, Missouri. His grandchildren Joshua Oaks and Rachel Oaks both of Columbus; Rose (Robert) Labit of Fayetteville, Arkansas;

Micah Hazen of Dayton and Lily Stuer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack was an accomplished woodworker and often crafted furniture, pens, charcuterie boards or other items for friends and family. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, servant’s heart and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.


Calling will be Tuesday March 31, 2026 at 10:00 am, with a Celebration of Life following. He will be interned at Blendon Cemetery for immediate family.
