Karen K. Boyd of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away on October 27, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Karen was married to the love of her life, Kevin Boyd, for 42 wonderful years. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Karen was preceded in death by her beloved son, Bryce Boyd; her parents, Shirley and Freddie; her sister, Bonnie; her aunt Mick and uncle Kenny; her mother-in-law, Colleen; her father-in-law, Don; and her brother-in-law, Rick.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Kevin; her son, Josh; her daughter-in-law, Jen (Robert); her beloved grandchildren who brought her endless joy, Sophie and Ivy; her daughters, Amy (grandchildren William and Sarah) and Stephanie (grandchildren Alex, Andrew, Abi, and Anna); her brother, Bruce; her sister, Kathy; her sister-in-law, Kathleen; her niece, Vickie; several nieces and nephews; and the many dear friends who were family by love, not by blood.

Karen had a gift for caring for others. As a caregiver, she became a cherished part of so many families throughout the community. She had a way of making people feel safe, loved, and at home. The impact she made on those families will never be forgotten.

Karen was a fashionista and the life of the party. She was generous, warm, fun-loving, and always ready to bring joy and laughter to those around her. She was always up for an adventure and had a true love for traveling, making memories, and experiencing new places along the way. Her personality filled a room, and her heart made people feel like family.

Karen had a rare ability to make people feel loved simply by being herself. She will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, and the countless people whose lives she touched throughout her life.

Her love, laughter, generosity, and adventurous spirit will continue to live on in all who knew her. Though she may no longer be with us, the memories she created and the love she gave will remain in our hearts forever.

Those wishing to honor Karen’s memory may make a donation to the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at The Ohio State University. May these gifts help advance breast cancer research and continue the fight against this disease in Karen’s honor.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten. 🩷
