Linda Sue Skinner, born on December 27, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away on January 12, 2026, in Sunbury, Ohio. She was a cherished sister and friend; and beloved stepmother whose warmth and friendship will be deeply missed.
Linda was a proud graduate of Big Walnut High School, Class of 1967. She valued the friendships forged during her school years and took great joy in organizing yearly reunions and monthly lunches, ensuring that the bonds formed in her youth remained strong throughout the years. Her dedication to her classmates exemplified her love for community and connection. A lady with a nurturing spirit, Linda had a special fondness for her pets, particularly her beloved German shepherd dogs. Having lost them since 2022, she often spoke of the joy they brought to her life and the companionship they provided. Linda was also an Ohio State fan and never missed watching a game. She had a true passion for cooking, particularly during the holiday season, where many memories were created and brought family and friends together around the table.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Cecil. She leaves behind her brothers, Steve Garee and Greg Garee (Nadine). Linda cherished her relationships with her several nieces and nephews, who were a significant part of her life. Additionally, she is survived by her stepson, Bradd Skinner, residing in Texas, and her stepdaughter, Amberly Mayle. She had many friends as she was a lifelong resident of Harlem Township and member of the Harlem Road Church.
Linda Sue Skinner will be remembered not only for her love of family and cooking but also for her vibrant spirit and commitment to maintaining meaningful connections with those she loved. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Friends may visit on January 20th from 5-7pm at Harlem Road Church or January 21st from 12-1p. Funeral service will start at 1pm on January 21st at Harlem Road Church with Pastor Bud Leskovac & Pastor Rocky Riddle officiating - followed by interment in Hunt Cemetery, Harlem Township.
